K66 TAKES A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO BOARD MEETINGS IN CANARY WHARF

Last month the  K66  team packed their bags and boards  to take part in the biggest cinematic event of the year,  California Classics.  The  people  at  Future Cinema  brought  two of the most  loved 1980's classics to the banks of  Canary Wharf  and the  K66 surf shop shack and Nik Bakers SUP school were there right in the middle of it all.

For two day's 8000 die hard Lost Boys  (Saturday)  and Top Gun  (Sunday)  fans lost themselves in the world of Santa Cruz and San Diego.

Over the weekend  100  actors,  fairgrounds,  vampires on motorbikes and the Top Gun locker room to name but a few scene setters, brought the films to life. The participating audience could pick up an original 80's comic, get a buzz cut, play ping pong on the beach and even Stand Up Paddleboard with their own dramatic scenery (Canary Wharf).

Whilst, Rob Small, the original 80's surfer, along with  K66's own original 80's windsurfer (that'll be Nik!) took members of the audience out on the water, the K66 surf shop shack was the place to go to hang out.

On the Sunday,  the K66  Surf  Shop  Shack had another surf dude, come  and hang out,  Fanatic/North team rider, Brawzinho. After spending time with the K66 team down at Hayling Island, for the NWF, Brawzinho, headed to California London! for an evening of Top Gun flight schools, beach volley ball and a 4000 people karaoke session with 'You've got that loving feeling' resounding off all four corners of the city.

From the  shores of  Hayling Island  to the banks of London town, the Fanatic and ION brands have certainly been showing off their best features across the country.  Canary  Wharf definitely witnessed  another kind of board meeting on the weekend and there is no stopping K66 from venturing into new environments.
Stand  Up  Paddleboarding  needs  a new  audience  and  K66  proved  that  you  don't  need  a windsurfing or surfing background  to be  tempted onto the water.   August saw the K66 team take SUP-ing to the people of London; and the people of London loved it!

It seems that where there is water there could be a SUP opportunity, so just where they will pop up next?
