A SHAW THING

Predominantly male dominated in more recent years, the sport has definitely seen a decline in female presence on the water compared to 1990’s. Like with many sports that involve getting cold and wet in this country, this is can be a fairly big put off for many girls, but luckily not for Bryony and for Great Britain.

Bryony became a member of the K66 team last year and although she has to race on the official RS:X equipment for the Olympics, her preferred kit for Free Sailing are her North Ices and Fanatic New Wave Twin and Quad. And to keep out those chills on the cold English water; her ION Trinity wetsuit is a favourite!

Since the 2008 Olympic Games, Bryony has been consistent with her World Cup podiums including a Gold in France, a Silver ‘Overall’ in 2010 and a Silver in Miami this year, to name but a few.

K66 is incredibly proud to be apart of Bryony’s Windsurfing career, not just because of her current status in the sport, but because she is a breath of fresh air.
Bryony has an amazing energy about her, which is a major contribution for Windsurfing, not only for the sport but also for females of any generation thinking about giving it a go.

Bryony is currently training in Weymouth, but 'The Word On The Water' will be catching up with her when things slow down a bit, for a cuppa and a more informal interview about life as an Olympian and what other things Byrony gets up to in her spare time.
