Nik Baker Nik Baker K-66

After stepping on a windsurfing board at the age of eleven it’s fair to say that Nik is one of the most experienced windsurfers of our time.

Competing on the global windsurfing circuit for over 20 years, Nik has some won credible titles, including the world famous Aloha classic to name but a few.

Nik’s drive and passion for windsurfing is reflected in the way he champions the sport, believing that getting out on the water is not just for the experienced water hardy type, but for anyone at any age.

From the Shoreham swell to the waves at Hookipa, Nik’s aim has always been to be the best he can on the water and enjoy life to the full. His determination for both, will see Nik’s passion for making windsurfing and other board sports alike not only accessible but fun and will see Nik’s long term commitment to be around for generations to come.

Over the last 20 years I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world competing in a sport that I’m passionate about. I’ve visited the best windsurfing and surfing locations in the world many times over and on average windsurfed more than 250 days a year, every year. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Since my competing days ended in 2007, I’ve been able to spend more time with my family. It’s always hard to spend time away from them, even if the destination is Hawaii.

I now proudly represent the brands that supported me for all those years with my company K66. We work hard to bring Windsurfing and other board sports to the people, making it accessible and fun. I still spend a fair bit of time around the country attending BSA and other events, but now it’s not so far to get back home to Shoreham to be with my wife and 2 sons.

Some might say it’s come full circle, being back on Shoreham Beach, but for me the circle is definitely not completed, I can’t imagine not being involved in the sport. Keeping windsurfing alive and as exciting as it was when I first started will always be an important part of my life.
